Also called Beach False Foxglove. Compare to other members of the Figwort family which are also called False Foxglove. The fasciculata part of the scientific name refers to the way the leaves occur in clusters. You may remember the bundled rods called "fasces" which officials of the ancient Roman republic carried: the words have the same root. These plants were photographed in Bay Minette, Alabama, and along Shipyard Road, in South Mobile County, Alabama, in September.
