Goldencrest

Goldencrest is unmistakable. Note the downy appearance of the upper stems and buds, unlike any simular sized plant. Compare with Redroot, which has simular leaves and size, but the flowers are packed into tight clusters. Goldencrest was once thought to be related Redroot, but now it is placed in the Lily family. Goldencrest favors damp environments. This plant was photographed near Todd Acres Road, in South Mobile County, Alabama, in early June. |
