Hairy Leafcup is also called Bearsfoot and Yellow Leafcup. Note the two scientific names. Most field guides will refer to the plant as Polymnia uvedalia, however the USDA and the ITIS, (Integrated Taxonomic Information System) list it as Smallanthus uvedalius. Hairy Leafcup is a member of the Aster family. This plant was photographed at Historic Blakeley State Park, in Baldwin County, Alabama, in late September.
