Pineweed
Hypericum gentianoides

| Pineweed, also called Orangegrass, is a rather small plant, usually about a foot high, with very small flowers and leaves. It is in the same Genus (Hypericum) as the St. John's Worts. Pineweed is a member of the Mangosteen family. It is common in sandy areas in late summer and fall. These plants were photographed near Salco Road, in North Mobile County, in late August. |
