Tread Softly, Finger Rot, or Bull Nettle, is common in pineywoods or dry sandy woods. As the names imply, this plant should not be handled. The hairs on the leaves and stems cause a distressing stinging. Tread Softly is a member of the Spurge family. These plants were photographed near Rabbit Creek, in South Mobile County, in April. |
